Knick Knack Friends

I have no clue what this is, but John bought him for me at the flea market on 340 and I love it. Today was a beautiful last day, despite not sleeping. We met Gordon and Jessica for donuts at the bakery and went yard sale-ing with them for furniture for their new place. I found a new Laughing Buddha to add to my collection, a red mid-sized one to add to my little family of figurines and this glass and metal friend. Both gifts seemed appropriate in timing and type. We Goodwilled, Wal Marted and Taco Belled. I napped and headed to Lessburg for Becca's graduation party. Both Becca and I tried not to cry when I left. We're criers.

Tomorrow, after one more eucharist at Trinity and John's soccer game, we wind our way down 81 to Bristol, TN. My mom says it should take about two hours to get there from here and it's one of the bulkier legs of our journey. As much as I'm clinging to life in Shepherdstown, I am looking forward to following the directions of the little British lady in my GPS and seeing a few sights along the way that I wouldn't typically see. From Bristol it's Memphis on Monday night and time spent at Graceland on Tuesday before heading to Texarkana and then on to Houston and The Woodlands. We'll arrive on Violetta Ct. on Wednesday in the afternoon. As we go south, we'll cross a time zone change, the temperature will climb and culture will fluctuate. It's hard to believe that all of this can happen in three days in one country.

Signing out for now, stay tuned for more from Bristol.
