My Nerdy Christmas List

As I was fishing Marley out of what seemed to be her thousandth attempt to summit the Christmas tree, I threatened to take her 99 cent stocking back to Target, or fill it with citrus-scented coal instead of catnip and salmon goodies. This made me think of my own Christmas list this year. This also made me realize exactly how incredibly nerdy I really am.

The top of this year's list is the newest Apple Time Capsule. I never thought the day would come that my most-wanted list would include a 500GB external hard drive. Though, it'll come in handy once I can slip a few more hundred dollars into my savings account, am an active student again and I can afford a beautiful new MacBook in the next few months.

Also on the list. Are - please don't laugh - are these fabulous green shopping bags I found online. I hate plastic shopping bags for a number of reasons, both environmental and practical. You know the environmental ones, but I also hate how many you need and how frequently they rip, especially when the grocery store cashier puts all of the cans and glass jars in one bag, and toilet paper in another. They're pretty nifty - they fold up in a little pouch so you can carry them easily into stores.

That's pretty much it. There's a watch I wouldn't mind having and a couple of books, but my eye is really on that external hard drive and a few green shopping bags.

I think my lack of creativity on my wish list this year is hurting my creativity as far as gift giving is concerned. At this point, I don't even know where to start.

I did, however, decorate a good bit of the house today. The ornaments are on the tree and they actually seem to deter little Marley from climbing. Red bows are attached to anything that will sit still long enough to get a red bow (meaning, not Marley...yet) and as soon as this typical late-November/early-December West Virginia weather (clouds and rain) subsides, I'll be ready for some exterior illumination.

Tis the season? Absolutely. Do I need a boost of creativity as far as the giving goes? Positively. Hopefully a few more days of Bing Crosby and red and green M&Ms will help.
